A Puppy On My Lap

That's what going on right now. I'm sitting on the couch with my dog sleeping on my lap as I type this. He has his chin just over my wrist and even though I am typing this. Apparently the clicking and movement of fingers on a keyboard isn't enough to wake him. Heh.

Well tomorrow should be an interesting day. First and foremost, there is a N Crowd Double Feature, meaning we have 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. shows tomorrow. These are probably the most grueling shows we have. Both are 90 minutes long which means we have a 30 minute break between the two shows. On the flip side, the weather is suppose to be crappy tomorrow. In the morning, ice and sleet. In the afternoon, heavy rain and sleet. I am hoping that this doesn't knock down our audience sizes. We've had nights like that, although we have also had nights on bad weather when we've sold out. I hope it's the latter. You know... I wonder if Matt Nelson will read this since I mentioned The N Crowd. Heh.

Ma' and Pa' are coming back this weekend. Hmm... I really should clean up the house.

Feeling A Little Better

Mmmm... You know that feeling after waking up from a 2 hour nap? It's even better with a puppy sleeping on your chest. Well it is pushing 3 p.m. now... so I guess I'll do the rest of my errands today. Ugh. I'd much rather go back to sleep with the puppy.

Glad I Took Today Off

Because I am under the weather today. Not exactly sick... although I have been sneezing alot. I just feel tired and achey. I'm sure if I was teaching today I would be none to fun.

So it's TV watching and puppy playing for me today.

Late Night Post

Usually I'd be in bed by now, but I am taking tomorrow off from working. There are a few reasons behind this. First and foremost, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. It's been over 10 days since I've had a day with nothing to do. Every day I've been driving 40 miles or more to do something and then coming back later. I did it Saturday and Sunday. So physically I feel very tired. Emotionally... there are a few things I've been dealing with and I really just need a day where no one bothers me for more than 12 or so hours.

Also, I need to play with my dog, Gizmo. I worked today for Twin Valley and was gone from he house from 7:15 a.m to 4:15 pm. Then I left for N Crowd stuff from 5:15 p.m. to 11:40 p.m. I honestly just felt bad that he was alone in the house for so long. He really isn't used to it. So tomorrow I am going to sleep in with him, buy him a new toy or two, and just play with him for a few hours.

I know... I'm lame... but I really love him and he's been a great companion this week that mom and dad have been gone. He's the best.

Sleepy....

I really wish I could just crawl back into bed and sleep till noon today.

Sigh.

I might just go and do that tomorrow. I really need a day to myself where I can lock all the doors and turn off my phone so no one will bother me.

Last Pottstown Fire Update:

According to the Mercury this morning, Village Productions escaped any damage from the great Pottstown Fire of '08. Whew. That would have really sucked if they had suffered damage so close to their opening in June.

Fire Update

So I ran some errands and stopped by the fire location. Police, Fire, and demolition crews have a bout 2 blocks of High Street blocked off as they are tearing down some of the buildings that have been damaged. All in all, it looks like 3 buildings have been totally gutted and another 3 or 4 buildings probably have some smoke and water damage.

On an up note, it doesn't look like the building Village Productions is looking to fix up and make into a theater sustained any damage. Although that entire block is without power for the time being. According to KYW1060, that area will be closed all day today and likely all day tomorrow.

What a mess.

Fire In Pottstown

Yesterday, as I was driving around with Matt, Mike, Brandon, Greg looking at theaters for the Hopper Brothers, there was a huge fire in Pottstown. Over the summer there was another huge fire that burnt down a warehouse and was like a 2 alarm fire. This fire was MUCH bigger.

According to The Pottstown Mercury, this fire was a 4 alarm fire, with over 200 firefighters coming in from 3 counties. When all was said and done, a half of city block burnt to the ground, 40 people were homeless, and 2.5 million dollars worth of damage was done. It wasn't the biggest fire in Pottstown, but it could be the most expensive one. NBC10 's website has a pretty good slide show of pictures of the scene.

The crappy part of this is that the place where Village Productions was suppose to open over the summer is on the same city block. I can't tell whether or not it was damaged or burnt down. I have some errands to run today, so I am going to poke around and see if their building was save.

According to the fire chief... they were lucky that they "didn't loose the entire city block."

Friday Fun

On Friday I taught for Twin Valley again. The only crappy part about Twin Valley is that it is out by Reading. And while this is fine on Monday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays... it does make it tough on Tuesday and Friday. But this school is right by the the PA Turnpike, so it makes getting to Philly not to hard, assuming there aren't any accidents. The class I taught was alot of fun. In Twin Valley they have a concept called "Multi-Grade." Basically they put two grades together. (15 1st graders and 15 2nd graders.) The 1st graders see how the older kids act and the older kids model for the younger kids. It really freaked me out the first time I saw it, but it is pretty cool I think.

Last night's N Crowd show was pretty good. We had 40 people come out to see the show, which was fantastic. We were close to a sell-out, but some people canceled at the last minute. Nevertheless, I was really pleased with the turn out. If 15 people make it to the show, I consider it a successful show. So when 40 come, I am excited.

I would say the show was a 7 out of 10. It wasn't a drop dead funny show, but it was pretty solid. I think people definitely got bang for their buck at this show. I did Movie Critics with Natalie and it was pretty funny. I also did a few more games with Ray, Kristen, Mike, and Anthony. I thought I was pretty funny, although it wasn't one of my better nights.

The after show shenanigans were... well... interesting. I'm not going to go into to much detail at the moment because police charges are still pending. (Not against me.) But it involves:

  • A kitchen knife
  • 6 squad cars
  • 14 stitches
  • and Cubans

Yea I know, interesting story huh? I'll write about it probably next week once everything gets sorted out.

Two Girls From Hazel Ave.

So if you aren't on The N Crowd mailing list (even though you should be) go to our website and check out "Two Girls From Hazel Ave."

It is a masterpiece beyond words*.

More Thoughts

So, 24 hours later there isn't all that much more news on Heath Ledger other then it looks like he didn't off himself. I'm still alittle sad knowing that The Dark Knight will be the last film he's ever going to be in. From what I gather from TMZ.com and other websites, it looks like that this was a horrible accident. Basically that he had trouble sleeping, might have taken one to many. End of story. It really is a terrible shame that this has happened to someone who I thought was extremely talented.

Just to rattle off a few of my favorite movies:

13 Things I Hate About You
A Knights Tale
The Patriot
The Order <- Kinda Blew, but I liked it.

I think the last time I was this shocked by a death was Chris Benoit. Although 24 hours later... it was much more horrible then when you first heard what happened. Now his reputation is tarnished forever. Someone on CNN said that Heath Ledger might be the James Dean of this generation: A promising actor taken away far to early.

I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy The Dark Knight as much as I would have knowing that he's not around anymore.

Guess the big lesson in this is to be careful what you ingest into your body, especially when it comes to medication.

R.I.P. Heath Ledger

I was shocked to hear this today. He was probably one of my favorite actors. I'll probably write more about this tomorrow night.

I guess the good do die young.

No School Today

Nope, it isn't a snow day. (Although with 20 degree weather, it certainly is cold enough for snow.) It is MLK day and therefore all schools that get federal money more or less close for the day. So, I've spent most of my day here at home, in front of a fire, with Gizmo snuggled up next to me as, I flip through some stuff on my computer.

I did go out once today to get some gas for the car and buy an external hard drive. I got one for my dad and liked it so much, I got one for myself. It is a really small 160 GB drive that could fit in my front pocket. I have a 400 GB drive that looks like it runs on diesel. It's amazing how small they make these things. I plan on backing up my computer weekly with this thing. It is pretty much a plug and play device, allowing me to synchronize files as I see fit. (I pretty awesome actually.)

I saw Cloverfield on Saturday. It is an amazing movie to say the least and in alot of ways kinda sad at the end. (But I won't say why.) I really like J.J. Abrams ever since he created Alias. (Which was before Lost, thank you very much.) His version of Mission Impossible with the cooky Tom Cruise was also really good. He is suppose to be releasing a Star Trek prequel/reboot of the series later in the year. Given how awesome his other movies have been, I will likely go see it.

Well that's about it for me. Hey look... two days in a row post!

Back To Blogger

So now I'm back to Blogger. I had a blog here for a little bit before I abandoned it back in 2006. A lot has certainly changed since then besides the fact I am 5 lbs. heavier. I won't go into all the changes. Most of them are boring.

But I did start a new blog on Beejer.com from April 2006 up to this month. However, a few people said that there was no RSS and what not. So... now I'm here. Previous months posts can be found by click here.

So hopefully I'll start posting more and more over the next few weeks. It might be unreasonable to assume that I'll post here everyday, but you never know. It might really depend on my schedule. I suppose if someone comments enough for me to get to posting again I will be more encouraged to post.
