Good Weekend

So the show on Friday went off really well. Despite the terrible weather... we had 35 or so people come out to the show. It was amazing that we had that many, but considering there was little else to do on a snowy night, I guess we shouldn't be surprise. This week we are likely going to have another sell out show because we are doing a promotion with www.meetmarket.com. They are having an event at our show and it looks like they are going to be bringing 30 or 35 people as it is. It'll be awesome.

Afterwards, we went to Charlies and had a few drinks and a few bites to eat. Then Brandon and I just hung out until 4 a.m. It was alot of fun. We don't usually hang out together, just the two of us that is. Mike was out with his teacher buddies and Jess was still in North Carolina with the DSI festival. I'm looking forward to going out to breakfast with them this coming week.

Saturday and Sunday I spent relaxing.

I hope to work tomorrow, but considering that Friday was canceled because of snow, I doubt that anyone will take off tomorrow. They'll have to play catch up from Friday, plus no one would have a chance to leave plans for me to look at on Monday. But we shall see.

Snow Day!

So I was scheduled to work today for Twin Valley. But... 5 inches of snow changed that. So, horay for me, I got to sleep in today. Right now I am just sitting here with a puppy curled up in my lap watching it snow outside. I would say that Pottstown has about 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground with a few more inches on the way.

The tricky part is trying to figure out if we should have a N Crowd show tonight. Right now, I am leaning towards a yes. The last time we had snow like this on a Friday, 15 or so people came out to see the show. I am hoping to repeat that sucess again. Plus I like the fact that we have a show unless it is the absolute worst kind of weather. Right now, I'm not so sure that this is the worst kind of weather. I am likely going to slowly head into the city at around... 2 p.m. Given the state of things outside, I expect to get there at around 4 p.m. If I leave any later, I risk getting stuck in a traffic jam that I don't really feel like dealing with.

Another tricky part is making sure we have enough people to pull off this show. I am confident we do... but I guess I'll have to play that one by ear as well. Hopefully I'll have some more time to post later.

Death and Taxes

So... I'm done my taxes. And... well... I owe about $250.

I wouldn't owe anything if I was a dependent. In fact, if I wasn't a dependent... I would be getting $800. There are times where I really love my current status. This is not one of those times. In fact.. right now... I really hate it and it's a little depressing.

Side note... if you have any suggestions, keep them to yourselves. I don't want to hear them. I've heard them before... and it isn't going to work at the moment.

hmph.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and this month will end on a high note. I however, do not have high hopes for that to happen. I'm going to be having a "meeting" with someone pretty soon, hopefully. The results of this meeting will have huge effects on my professional life. I'm guessing it is going to end not so great for me. Keep your fingers crossed.

One Quick Week

So it has been quite the busy past week for me, as you might have noticed due to the lack of posts. Most of the activity has been in two areas: Teaching and Improv. Last week I worked 4 of the 5 days I could have. (I was kinda stuck in Philly on Wednesday.)

The work week was somewhat disrupted by an ice storm that hit on Tuesday. This caused me to get out of school at noon on Tuesday and had school more or less canceled on Wednesday. I was going to try to get back and work a half day with Pottsgrove (they had a 2 hour delay), but the icing became so bad that I decided to stay in Philly rather than come back to Pottstown and risk wrecking. It was very icy that night, so I'm glad I didn't.

The rest of the week was pretty decent with teaching, although I've felt a bit under the weather so it hasn't been as fun as it could be. My head has just really felt quite heavy for some reason... like I'm congested. Not exactly sure if I have a touch of something... but I'm hoping it'll clear up sooner then later.

Improv, as I mentioned in the previous post, went quite well this week. We had a sold out show and two people (thus far) have left fantastic reviews on our Google Maps page. It's always nice playing for a packed house that really appreciates what you are doing.

Well I'm going to take a little nap and then head to West Chester to catch a wrestling PPV. And then tomorrow.... sleep in! Woo hoo for 3 day weekends.

Last Night & Bootleggers

Last night's show was kinda of a bust. We had a GREAT set, but only 8 people came to the show. Last week we had 72, proving once again it is impossible to figure out when people will come to a show and when they will not. (Shrug)

After the show I departed from my regular routine and went down to Bootleggers off of McDade Blvd and attend Connie's 30th's Birthday Party, as hosted by the Kidd Chris Show. Although I'm sure it isn't well known, but this is probably one of my favorite radio stations. And since last June, I have been a regular poster on their message boards. I haven't attend any events, as most of them take place on Fridays, but I was able to go down to this one.

To be honest, I was a little nervous going down and meeting 15 or 20 people I've never seen before. However, when I got there everyone was really excited to finally meet me. When I walked up, everyone gave me a real odd look... tilted their head to the side and said... "Beeeeeeeej? Oh my gawd! You are real." It was a really nice time. I felt almost special. I got a pictures with a few people.

Here are some pictures courtesy of Coz:

Di Di and Me.
The Talented Lady Gash
Di Di Picking a fight.
<---- Handsome.

So all in all... I met:

Coz
Jude
Dub Ill
Random
Mandy (Box)
BB
SkinTight
Pistol Pete
Thomas <- in person this time.
Di Di
Lady Gash
Chad
Yeti
DJ IM Reds
Slim
Jude

And probably like 3 or 4 others I can' t remember. I'm kinda hung over today. As more more pictures get posted, I'll probably link a few here.

Overall... it was a great time and it was really great meeting everyone who I've been trading posts with over the last 6 months.

The most common statement made last night:

"You're Beej? Wow. I... I thought you'd be alot taller."

Hmm... No Work Today

Well apparently no one is sick today, so I didn't sub today. Heh. I wish it was colder. I bet the germs would spread further.

Nothing really else to report. I have a very boring life... at least today.

Keeping Busy

So it has been a pretty busy week. It looks like I'll be working 4 of the 5 days this week. So far I've worked Monday, Tuesday, and today. I'll likely snag a job tomorrow in Pottsgrove or Twin Valley, but we shall see. I was going to take on in Twin Valley, however that is tricky on Fridays because then I have to go right from school into the city for the show. I don't really like doing that on a regular basis. But if that is the only thing available, then I'll grab it.

Ticket says for The N Crowd's show this week looks pretty good. I am thinking we will have 15 to 20 people at the show. A far cry from the sellout last week, but you can't expect to have sell outs every week. It would be great if we did... and I hope to someday.

Well gots to go and get some dinner. I'll post more later after I get some errands done.

The Truth About Greg Maughn

I think it's time people know all about the man who created the Philadelphia Improv Theater.

  • He was born on the Winter Solstice on the Isle of Man.
  • He casts no shadow on June and October.
  • Three weeks after he moved into his house in West Philly, hookers began disappearing.
  • Every December 27th, he flies to England leaves a red rose on the grave of Princess Dianne.

Some say he is a serial killer...

Others say he is just aloof...

But I firmly believe that Greg is an immortal.

Super Bowl

Holy Crap...

Not a perfect season....

Congrats Eli Manning and The Giants.

Fun Weekend

It has been a very eventful weekend and also somewhat relaxing.

Friday

On Friday I took the day off because we had a double feature in Philadelphia for The N Crowd. If I worked, I would have left Gizmo alone for 8 hours in the morning, been home for 30 minutes, and then left him alone for another 10 hours when I went in for the show. I just couldn't do that. I know... I know... I'm a goof. But... Gizmo appreciated it.

The N Crowd's show was great. We had a show at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. (hence the term Double Feature) and both had some pretty strong attendance. We ran a special through the Philly Fun Guide, and had 35 or so for the first show and sold out the second show. It was pretty awesome. It was a really rainy and ugly night, so it was even better that so many people came out.

Saturday

Was spent all day cleaning up. Although I did take a few hours to go to Reading and visit with a friend. We saw "Meet The Spartans." Spoiler Alert: It wasn't good. Then we went to the West Reading diner for some mid afternoon french toast. It actually wasn't that bad. I'm hoping to hang out with her a bit more later, but she has quite the busy schedule.

Later in Saturday, I finished up cleaning up the house... built a fire, and sat on the couch with Gizmo and waited for Mom and Pa to come back from Mexico. They rolled in around 1 a.m.

Sunday

It's the Super Bowl! I plan on doing nothing other then watching Charlie Bronson movies and waiting for the big game to start. I also will probably be doing my weekly improv advertising later in the afternoon.
